Damson Wood enjoys Africa Day to raise money for EducAid Africa Charity

Children and staff at Damson Wood Nursery and Infant School Academy recently held a very special Africa Day to raise money for the charity EducAid Africa.
Damson Wood celebrated Africa Day by wearing brightly-coloured clothes, many with the colours of the Kenyan flag, and took part in a range of activities including Africa dance, jewellery making, learning about African animals and enjoying music from Africa.
Linda Maxfield, a representative from EducAid Africa, visited the school to tell Damson Wood pupils about the important work the charity does in Kenya and shared some photos and videos of her time visiting schools there.
EducAid Africa is a charity dedicated to improving the educational opportunities for pupils in the Mombasa area of Kenya. Every penny donated to EducAid Africa is used to support individual pupils and school projects.
The charity ensures that funds raised are used directly to empower students in poverty to access education and a healthier lifestyle. It also contributes funds for the provision of appropriate books and equipment to schools and pupils at all phases from nursery to university.
