Woodies Childcare can be found within the grounds of Damson Wood Nursery & Infant School and is joined with Balsall Common Primary School as part of a multi-academy called the
Central Schools Trust.
Woodies is a time for fun and enjoyment in a safe, caring and homely environment. We have access to all the school play equipment, hall, library, playground and Forest School area.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which promotes learning through play.
We offer full or part-time day care for children aged 2 years and over.
We are currently open from 7.30am - 5.30pm, except Friday, when we close at 3pm.
Bookings for the new academic year are now beng taken.
Caterpillars & Butterflies - Full Day Care sessions are available for children from the age of 2 years.
We offer a variety of options for paying parents, from just one or two sessions a week to full time, which are competitively priced. We do not charge for snacks or consumables and kindly ask parents to bring their own nappies. We do not provide nappies therefore we do not charge.
We are also registered to provide early education funding once your child turns two – please see www.beststartinlife.co.uk to check if you are eligible.
Conkers Before School Club is open daily in term time from 7.30am. We provide a healthy breakfast which is included in the price and served until 8.30am.
Woodies staff will then safely escort all children to school.
Conkers After School Club starts at 2.45pm for the nursery or 3.15pm for the rest of school until 5.30pm (please note we are closed after school on Friday) daily in term time.
Woodies staff will collect all children from school safely back to Woodies.
We provide a free healthy snack after school for all children and those staying until 5.30pm are provided with a light tea which is also included in the price.
Parents of children who attend Conkers Before and After School Club may be eligible to use some of their 30 hours free childcare entitlement or tax-free childcare.
Explorers Holiday Club is open for some of the school holidays for Damson Wood children aged 3–11 years (dates and times will be reviewed on an annual basis). We offer a thematic programme that ensures a variety of fun and exciting activities with sessions that are varied and flexible. Parents may be eligible to use the tax-free childcare entitlement.
We are closed for the Bank holidays and for the 2-week Christmas holiday period.
We are also closed for staff training – please see school term dates.
