30 hours provision

3 year old booking form

Are you the parent of a child who will be turning 3 or 4 years old during 2023-2024?

If not, perhaps you know a friend or family member who is?

You may have already heard the news that some families are now entitled to 30 hours FREE childcare for their 3 or 4 year old child. This initiative, primarily aimed at working parents, provides an additional 15 hours childcare on top of the 15 hours free early education in an Ofsted registered setting which all Solihull 3 and 4 year olds can already access. This can be in a child-minder, pre-school, day nursery, school nursery or wrap around, which includes Woodies Childcare at Damson Wood.

You may have heard about the introduction of tax-free childcare for parents and 30 hours childcare for 3 and 4 year olds. We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer both of these new initiatives at Damson Wood in partnership with Woodies Childcare. Check out the leaflet below or the Childcare Choices website now to find out if you are eligible.

Solihull Family Information Service also has lots of information available. Their leaflet can be found below.

Please note that if you wish to apply for 30 hours, you must do so in the term before your child starts.

For more information about how you can use your child’s entire 30 hour provision on our school site, contact the school office on 0121 705 8652.

Feel free to share this information with family, friends and neighbours who may not be aware of this brilliant new initiative for working families!

Information leaflet from Childcare Choices

Parents wishing to apply for 30-hours free childcare entitlement are now be able to make applications via the Childcare Choices website. Parents can only apply if their child is 3 years or above the term before they are due to start. Parents will need to make an application before the start of the each term to secure funding for the term ahead.

If your application is successful, you will be advised to contact your childcare provider to reserve a place. Please get in touch with Woodies to do this. At this point, you will need to share your 30-hours eligibility code so it can be validated.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
